The Harmony of Terroir

In the world of music, "Belcanto" represents the perfect harmony displayed by a complete work—a fitting title for this standout wine from the historic Nittardi estate. Once owned by the legendary artist Michelangelo in the 16th century (who still graces the label), this certified organic Chianti Classico is a masterful blend of predominantly Sangiovese alongside seven other local indigenous grape varieties. The notably warm 2022 vintage yielded beautifully ripe fruit, but careful management in the vineyard ensured it maintained the vibrant acidity and distinct, stony minerality driven by the estate's famous "Galestro" soils.

Appearance – Rich, vibrant ruby red with subtle violet glints at the edge.

Nose – An inviting and expressive bouquet. Uplifted aromas of juicy dark cherries and crushed raspberries are layered with hints of Mediterranean wild herbs, warm baking spices, and a touch of pressed violets.

Palate – Medium-bodied and wonderfully textured on the mid-palate. A pulpy core of ripe red fruit is expertly balanced by a refreshing, food-friendly acidity and fine, slightly grainy tannins. It finishes with a polished, lingering persistence and a lovely savory, earthy depth.

Pairings – Wagyu Teppanyaki, Iberico Pork Secreto, Grilled Pork Jowl with Yuzu Kosho, Assorted Wild Mushroom Foil Yaki, and Beef Teriyaki.

Service – Serve at 16–18°C. This classic Sangiovese blend shows its best when allowed to stretch its legs. Give it about 30 to 45 minutes of air in a decanter or a large-bowled glass to let those complex aromatic layers fully unfold and soften the youthful tannins.
