The Precision of the Stellenbosch Blend
Boschkloof has earned a reputation for producing wines that bridge the gap between New World fruit and Old World structure, and this Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot blend is a perfect example. Sourced from the granite-rich soils of the Polkadraai Hills in Stellenbosch, the wine benefits from the cooling influence of the Atlantic Ocean. The Reasby family emphasizes a "less is more" approach in the cellar, allowing the natural elegance and structural grip of the Cabernet to be softened by the plush, velvety fruit of the Merlot.
Appearance - Deep crimson with a concentrated ruby core.
Nose - A sophisticated and inviting bouquet. Intense aromas of blackcurrant and dark plum are layered with complex notes of cedarwood, dried herbs, and a subtle hint of graphite.
Palate - Medium-to-full-bodied with a refined and well-integrated structure. The palate offers a dense core of dark forest fruits supported by fine-grained tannins and a balanced, food-friendly acidity. It finishes with impressive persistence, leaving a savory, earthy impression and a touch of black pepper.
Pairings - Wagyu Teppanyaki, Beef Teriyaki, Grilled Butabara, Iberico Pork Secreto, Assorted Wild Mushroom Foil Yaki.
Service - Serve at 17–18°C. This is a structured red wine that benefits from 30 minutes of aeration. This allows the tannins to soften and the complex secondary aromas of cedar and spice to fully integrate with the dark fruit.
